When and what personal data do we collect?

Your personal data may be collected on the SKALIN website when you fill out forms on the website.

SKALIN is committed to collecting your consent whenever necessary.

Only SKALIN staff and our subcontractors and data hosts may have access to your personal data in compliance with the purposes described above.

Is your data transferred outside the European Union?

Your personal data is hosted and processed in the European Union. No transfer of personal data is made to a country outside the European Union.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep your personal data only for as long as is strictly necessary for the purposes stated above.

Consequently, contact data collected via forms are kept for 3 years after the last active contact (a reply, an email, an exchange, the downloading of an e-book, the subscription or the opening of a newsletter etc.).

Finally, your data may be archived in order to allow SKALIN in the event of a claim, whether contentious or not, to argue and defend ourselves in court.

How is your data protected?

Users of our application

If you are or were a user of www.app.skalin.io, we are collecting all the previously mentioned info, but also have collected some additional information such as:

  • The name of your company, your first name, last name, email address, as well as an encrypted version of your password. This information is mandatory to create and manage your account.
  • We might eventually also store your phone number or job title or some additional info you gave us.
  • We do not give or sell any of this information to third parties. If we promote third party services, we will do so in our name.
  • We also collect log information on your connections for security reason. This is only for a limited amount of time.

Right to access, rectify or delete your personal data:
You have the right to contact us to know which information we have on you and request an update or deletion. Some information cannot be deleted while you have an active account. Be aware that your data may live inside backups for up to 6 months after their deletion on our database.

Google analytics inside the app:
We do record the usage of our application through Google Analytics. The monitoring is at the customer level.

Third party services:
Once you’ve subscribed to our service, we’ll use several services to communicate with you. Those services will hold some of your personal data and are all compliant with GDPR. For more info on this, please check our Data Processing Agreement.

Additional information about Google user data

If you connect your Skalin account to your Google account to benefit from advanced integration features, you grant Skalin access to your Google data.

  • Skalin will access your Google account to read and write email Message bodies including attachments, metadata and headers.
  • Skalin will not use any of your Google data for advertisements purposes.
  • Skalin will only store emails that are sent to or received from contacts existing in your Skalin account.
  • Skalin will only write emails that you composed or triggered from the application.
  • You can delete any stored email from Skalin and disconnect your Google account at any time.
  • Depending on your Skalin privacy settings, only you or other users of your account will have access to the copies of your emails inside Skalin.
  • For support purposes, authorised Skalin employees may have access to your data inside Skalin. All employees are bound by a written non-disclosure agreement.
  • Skalin's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What are your rights on your data?

In accordance with the European Data Protection Regulation (RGPD) and the amended Data Protection Act, you have many rights regarding your data:

  • Right of access: you can ask what data is processed about you and obtain a copy;
  • Right of rectification: you can complete, correct your data which would be inaccurate;
  • Right to erase or forget: you can withdraw your consent, exercise your right to object, request the deletion of your account, subject to the data no longer being necessary and the obligations to retain some of your data;
  • Right to limit the processing of your data: you can ask to suspend the use of your data if you dispute the accuracy of your data;
  • Right to object: you can request that the processing of your data be stopped unless the data controller has an interest in keeping it, such as a legal obligation;
  • Right to portability: you can recover the data you have provided for your own account or for the account of another controller;
  • Right to data disposition: you can define what happens to your data after your death, including who will have access to your account and what to do with your data;
  • Right to lodge a complaint: you have the right to lodge a complaint about your data with the CNIL in the event of disagreement or dispute concerning the processing of your personal data by SKALIN.
